The MLS Property Listing Form

When listing your home with a realtor, you'll be asked to sign the MLS Listing agreement. This agreement consists of two parts.

The first part of the form is the actual listing agreement between you and your realtor which sets out the commission rate, the price of your home and the agency agreement between you and your realtor.

The second part of the agreement is a data input form that describes all the particulars in regards to your home, cottage or other property. The form provides the room sizes, taxes, legal description, and all the details a purchaser and their realtor will require. This information is then entered into the MLS online data system so it is accessible to other realtors and the public.

Along with the property details most realtors will also upload up to 30 photos of your property to show it at its best advantage to prospective buyers.

When completing the MLS Listing form it is very helpful is the seller has documents showing the recent taxes, or any upgrades and improvements they’ve done to the home in recent years. These documents can be provided in PDF format on the MLS site along with the other information about your property to help answer any questions prospective buyers may have.
